We’ve come a long way baby-or have we???

Love the old, the worn, the rusted. Love the tone of green, the chipped paint, the fonts, the price. Love that the pumps (there were two side by side) were still standing on what was left of the grounds of a much abandoned, now defunct station. The fuel contained lead and the pump posted a warning to that effect on the side, including the chemical name ‘tetraethyl’. But someone thought of leaving the pumps in place. Perhaps for nostalgia lovers like me. I thought I had discovered something unusual in the landscape. I later saw them featured on a postcard for sale in a local tourist shop.
